Brazoria County Pride Educational Grant & Scholarship


The Brazoria County Pride Educational Grant and Scholarship empowers LGBTQ+ students in Brazoria County who are seeking to further their education though accredited academic testing or those earning their undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degrees in the United States.

Brazoria County Pride is proud to offer two $500 scholarships for the upcoming Spring 2025 semester.

Important Dates:

Application Opens: November 1st

Application Due: December 20th

Winners Announced: December 31st

Eligibility:

  • Be a resident of Brazoria County.
  • A member of LGBTQIA+ community. 
  • Enrolled for the Fall 2024 semester in an accredited university pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree.

  • Scholarship recipients will be required to show proof of residence and enrollment. 

  • Disclaimer: Scholarship winners have a period of 14 business days from the notification of their winning essay to submit the required documents. In the event that the initial scholarship winner(s) fails to provide the required documents within the specified timeframe, the scholarship will be forfeited and then awarded to the individual whose essay secured the runner-up position. This is to ensure funds can be distributed to their respective educational institutions within a timely manner.

In what ways do you envision using your education to make a positive impact on the LGBTQ community? Describe how this scholarship will enable you to pursue specific academic opportunities or professional development that will empower you to achieve these goals.

Explain how financial support from this scholarship will alleviate specific barriers you face as an LGBTQ student or ally. How will overcoming these barriers enhance your ability to succeed academically and contribute to the LGBTQ community?
